The organization抯 top management provides the EMS policy which is appropriate to the environmental impact.
Planning
2.1 Specifying the aspects of environmental impact(s). 2.2 Considering legislation and other rules relevant to EMS. 2.3 Defining environmental objectives and targets corresponding to the policy. 2.4 Conducting an environmental programme to attain the objectives and targets.
Implementation of the EMS according to the policy
3.1 Defining organizations?outlines and responsibilities for the effective implementation of EMS. 3.2 Providing an appropriate training programme relating to environment to the personnels whose tasks concern environmental impact(s) to build up their awareness. 3.3 Defining processes for both internal and external communication. 3.4 Conducting and controlling the environmental management documentation system. 3.5 Controlling the operation of the activities relevant to environmental impact(s) to attain the specified objectives and targets. 3.6 Being ready to react to the emergency event(s) including the prevention and mitigation of the environmental impact(s) caused by the above matter(s).
Checking and corrective actions
4.1 Monitoring and measuring the activities which cause environmental impact(s). 4.2 Conducting the corrective and preventive actions of the non-conformity. 4.3 Following up the effectiveness of the corrective and preventive actions.
Environmental management system review
The EMS should be periodically reviewed by the top management of the organization to ensure that the established system is appropriate, sufficient, implemented effectively and improved continually.
